What you get
The part of your budget that decides the edit.
Casting is the one line item that shows up in every frame. We treat it that way.
Commercial casting, film and television, industrial and corporate, print and voice. Producers who searched for a Phoenix casting agency and landed here are in the right place, and we work statewide including Scottsdale, Tempe and Tucson.
A casting suite, not a borrowed room
Sessions run in a purpose built space with proper lighting, sound and a waiting area, so your talent arrives settled and reads well on camera.
Talent we know by name
We work inside Arizona's acting community every week. When a role needs someone specific, we usually know who that is before the statewide call goes out.
Selects you can actually use
Organized takes, live casting links and honest notes on who can carry the day. Callbacks scheduled around your board, not ours.
Booking handled
Avails, holds and booking managed through to the shoot day, so your production coordinator is not chasing anyone the night before.
How a casting runs
Five steps, in this order, every time.
Breakdown
You send the spec and the shoot dates. We read it closely and ask the questions that save a day later, including the ones about wardrobe, union status and usage.
Search
We start with the talent pool we know personally, then open a statewide call when the role calls for a wider net.
Session
In person at the Phoenix suite, or self tape when the schedule demands it. Sides go out early so every actor arrives having done the work.
Selects and callbacks
You get organized takes and live casting links you can share with the client. Callbacks are scheduled around your production board.
Avails, holds, booking
We carry it through booking and confirm everything ahead of the shoot day.
The room
Casting sits inside a working acting studio.
Phoenix Casting operates out of Dearing Acting Studio, which has trained actors in Phoenix for twenty years. That is the reason the talent pool runs deep and the reason actors walk into the room already knowing how a session works.
For a producer it means less time spent explaining the basics and more time watching people who can carry the role.
Who runs your session
The casting team.
Straight answers
What producers ask before they send the breakdown.
Are you a casting director or a talent agency?
A casting director. Producers, directors and agencies hire Phoenix Casting to run the casting for a project: breakdown, search, sessions, selects and booking. We do not represent talent and we do not charge actors.
Do you cast union and non-union?
Both. SAG-AFTRA and non-union commercials, film and television, in the same room with the same process.
Can you cast for a production based outside Arizona?
Yes. Out-of-state producers send the breakdown, we run the sessions in Phoenix or by self tape, and selects arrive organized with links, sizes and availability so the decision can be made from anywhere.
Where do sessions happen?
In our casting suite at 10806 N. 32nd Street in Phoenix, inside Dearing Acting Studio. When the schedule demands it, self tapes with the same sides and the same direction.
How fast can you turn a casting around?
Most commercial breakdowns go out the day we get them, with sessions inside the week. Tell us the shoot date and we work back from it.
What kinds of productions do you cast?
Commercials for national and regional brands, film and television, corporate and industrial, and print. The credit list on this page is the answer in detail.
Start a casting
Send the breakdown. We will take it from there.
Shoot dates, roles, union status and usage are enough to start. If you are still scoping the job, a call is faster than a form.
Dana runs casting coordination and self-tape submissions, and she is the one who answers. You will deal with her from the breakdown through to booking.

For actors
If you're an actor looking for representation or a place to submit, this is the wrong door. Phoenix Casting works from agency submissions and talent we already know, and there is no actor submission form here.
